PILATES

Joseph Pilates developed a technique originally to heal and rehabilitate soldiers from battle . His technique has suspended decades now becoming very popular in the New York dance community in the 1950’s and more recently a fitness trend as many are focused on “working on the core”.   Pilates has been proven to increase muscle tone, improve coordination and flexibility, and balance the mind and body.

At 1617Lab the movement is the medicine.

Our instruction here is unique in that we choose to offer several movement modalities for the greater purpose of healing and holistic strength. We are all Pilates faciltators but also working professionals who have integrated our own self-healing discoveries with the principles of movement our wise elders have taught us in order to keep ourselves moving at high professional performance levels .

Most clients commit to sessions 2-3 times a week to see and feel optimum results and connection.
